    Ben Nye cake eye liner review

    I like the consistency and the fact that it goes on more like a gel than a water based product. The only issue is that I need to use eye drops once during the day and when I do the liner in the corners wash away so I need to re-apply.
    Other than that it stays on all day.

    Not of quality or worth an order

    Quality of the cake eyeliner is quite low. The eyeliner comes off almost upon first touch. It can't be blended or thinned out to make the gray shadowy tone because it bubbles and flakes. In adequate coverage. Very very disappointing. I really wanted this to be a substitute to the Clinique waterproof eyeliner that I have used until they discontinued it. This was a waste of good money to have ordered this product but I live and learn

    I really like the fact that the Ben Nye cake eyeliner is water based instead of a gel. I have tried every pen and gel eyeliner on the market and not one works at all! Years ago, I used Maybelline, Physicians Formula and Fran Wilson cake eyeliner but they took their water based off the market. Laura Mercier cake eyeliner I'm allergic to. The last few years I have been using Maybelline black eye shadow as eyeliner - messy. It's taking me a while to adjust to the Ben Nye brand because it goes on so thinly, I found I have to use a minute amount of water and go over the line many times. It doesn't make nice full black line. It looks like it's mixed with oil when I brush it on and I have to keep going over it to fill in the spaces. I also think I am getting an allergic reaction to it because my vision starts to blur.
